Unlike Saturn's bright rings which are composed of chunks of ice, Jupiter's rings are darker and appear to consist of fine particles of rock. The six pictures above were taken in infrared light from the Infrared Telescope Facility in Hawaii in 1994, and cover a time span of two hours. Jupiter Inner Satellites and Ring Components Date: 15 Sep 1998 This schematic cut-away view of the components of Jupiter's ring system shows the geometry of the rings in relation to Jupiter and to the small inner satellites, which are the source of the dust which forms the rings. The Jupiter image was created from a map based on data obtained by the Hubble Space Telescope. Just WOWllll The Christmas star... Now is the best time to see it if California time... I just saw it... Saw it through a huge powerful telescope... So beautiful, so cool... I could even see the rings of Saturn. Blessings to all tonight!!!

I got it! Saturn with it's amazing rings and Jupiter with it's 4 large moons lined up looked amazing as they all set over the distant mountains! (Go out tonight or tomorrow night if you have the chance...they will look just about the same and even a bit closer tonight!) I've been waiting 7 years to get this shot and it actually worked out! :) All shots used were taken within 2 minutes through my 950mm explore scientific 127 ED telescope and sizes are not exaggerated to be bigger from how the
Looking for a portable and easy to assemble telescope for celestial viewing? Then the AstroMaster LT Series is just for you! The AstroMaster LT Series produces bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. Easily observe the belts and moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For breathtaking views of brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light-gathering ability of the Newtonian Reflector.
Toys"R"Us Canada Exclusive - Edu Science - Astro Precision 600 Telescope. With the 50mm aperture, you can explore the Moon's cratered surface and see intriguing planet features like Jupiter's Galilean moons or Saturn's rings. Two interchangeable Plössl eyepieces give you magnifications of 23x and 62x. Panhandle mount control allows you to smoothly move the telescope up, down and side to side. Full size tripod is fully adjustable and includes an accessory tray for holding extra eyepiece. Use
2020 isn't totally awful - check out the the great Saturn-Jupiter Conjunction on Monday, December 21st! Look towards the southwest, low in the sky, about an hour after sunset for the two planets. If you have a telescope, you should be able to catch a glimpse of a few of Jupiter's moons and Saturn's rings! #astronomy #fofm #christmasstar #greatconjunction #space
Just like Saturn, Jupiter also has shepherd moons to help maintain the ring structure. While the material of the ring is dusty and icy particles like Saturn, it is though that Io also supplies some of the debris.

The Christmas Star 2020. The first picture is a long exposure of Jupiter and Saturn together on December 21st 2020 at their closest point, taken from Central Georgia USA. I did a long exposure to allow the light to soak into the barrel of the telescope and bounce off its internal mirrors and hardware to create this beautiful effect. The 2nd picture is what it looked like from the telescope eyepiece, rings of Saturn and Jupiter's moons in full view. Merry Christmas. Greg Hogan Photography
